Mahishasur Mardini, Shri Durga (goddess of courage), kills the demon Mahisasur. This mythological tale forms the basis of the Dashain celebration in Nepal and Dussehra in India. Mahisasur, who asked to be immortal from Lord Brahma and continued his wrongdoings, was brutally assassinated for his evil work.
